## Description

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

In FC Quality Verification Engineering, our mission is to build the test automation and AI-powered developer tools that help our EA SPORTS FC teams understand game quality. We partner with development, quality, production, and live operations teams across Vancouver and Bucharest.

As an Engineering Manager in Vancouver, you will work with us to lead a team of software engineers building and running these systems. You will combine people leadership with delivery ownership, reporting to our Technical Director. You will work hybrid, at least 3 days a week, from our office in Burnaby, BC.

Responsibilities:

- Build and elevate an engineering team. Hire, onboard and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, useful feedback, performance management and career planning.

- Lead technical execution with clear ownership, achievable plans and a sustainable workload across locations and time zones.

- Turn our partner priorities into delivery commitments, adapting plans as needs evolve, following through on milestones, and communicating risks, dependencies, and obstacles early to technical and non-technical partners.

- Partner with our Technical Director and engineers to review designs, explain decisions and trade-offs, and resolve technical roadblocks.

- Take initiative to improve our engineering practices across design, testing, continuous integration, and operational support using quality, reliability, and adoption metrics.

- Track relevant technology trends and developments, guiding our team in evaluating and adopting AI-assisted workflows and engineering tools.

Required qualifications:

- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on engineering and technical team leadership.

- 2+ years of direct people management of software engineers, including coaching, performance management and career development.

- Proven success spearheading the delivery of automation, developer tooling, or comparable platforms, owning prioritization, capacity planning, and complex cross-team dependencies.

- Experience in C#, C++, or Python, software design, testing, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflows.

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

The pay ranges for this role in British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) are $122,300 - $170,700 CAD.

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
