## Description

Are you interested in building high-performance, globally scalable systems that support Amazon's current and future growth?

We're looking for a highly motivated System Development Engineer to help build Amazon's business-critical delivery systems and solutions to operate at scale.

You will work on critical business functions for our customers around the world while meeting system availability goals and ensuring system performance with growing business needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing, implementing, maintaining, and deploying components that solve problems in a complex ecosystem

- Leading migration projects from planning through execution, including infrastructure setup, data replication, traffic management, and post-migration validation

- Identifying and implementing cost optimization strategies to reduce per-offering costs through automation and streamlined operations

- Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, conducting code reviews, providing technical direction, and fostering a culture of operational excellence within the team

- Leading root cause analysis for high-severity incidents, implementing preventive measures, and driving operational improvements across the team's processes and tooling

- Collaborating with service teams across Amazon to identify and resolve migration blockers

- Participating in on-call rotations to ensure operational support for critical migration activities

- Building AI-assisted workflows that streamline migration operations or make our day-to-day job easier and faster

- Performing deep dives on services with different compute types to generate recommendations for optimization of resources

You will apply your skills in system design, networking, coding/scripting languages, as well as technical communication and project organization to make your impact.

## Skills

### Required
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- 4+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- Experience in Performance tuning or optimization of compute resources

### Nice to have
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
