The role is for a Claims Handler with a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful individual will join a growing Casualty team, providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients. ## Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role include: - Communicating with insurers, policyholders, and brokers. - Handling allocated claims, either from your desk or by referring them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when necessary. - Obtaining all relevant evidence and documentation. - Determining appropriate actions to resolve each case. - Preparing detailed reports, advising on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics as needed. - Negotiating settlements within agreed authority limits. - Maintaining proactive communication with all parties involved. - Handling cases according to documented procedures and client requirements. - Regularly reviewing and maintaining proper reserves. - Staying updated on technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in company-facilitated training programs. ## Skills, Knowledge & Expertise The essential skills and knowledge required for the role include: - Proficiency in managing claims from cradle to grave. - Experience managing property claims. - Experience with the investigation of liability claims. - Knowledge of how to value injury claims. - Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal. - Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. - Being a collaborative team player. - Management of personal caseload. - Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.
