## Description

Ford of Canada is seeking a Research & Development Engineer to join their team at the Windsor Engine Plant/Essex Engine Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engine tests at PERDC, coordinating the effort of Dynamometer technicians and trades, while interfacing with other areas and departments.

The Research & Development Engineer position involves:

- Supporting and developing gasoline and diesel engine research, development, and testing

- Operating various powertrain calibration tools, including Automotive Technology Inc. (ATI) Vision and Engineering Tools Application Solutions (ETAS)

- Analyzing exhaust emission analyzer systems

- Writing internal technical reports and publishing technical papers

- Executing Ford Corporate Engineering Test Procedures (CETP) and developing new test methodologies

- Conducting advanced powertrain research focused on direct injection, turbocharging, and combustion

- Operating data acquisition systems for collecting data in dynamometer test cells

- Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and skilled trades across various teams and affiliates

- Executing significant development projects, such as powertrain mapping to optimize Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), performance, and emissions

- Managing large projects for test facility implementation

The ideal candidate will have:

- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemistry, or Electrical Engineering

- 2+ years of experience in internal combustion engine development

- Experience in supporting and developing gasoline and diesel engine research, development, and testing

- Proficiency in powertrain calibration tools and data acquisition systems

- Familiarity with exhaust emission analyzer systems

- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and write internal technical reports

- Experience in executing Ford Corporate Engineering Test Procedures (CETP) and developing new test methodologies

The expected annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00 - $124,000.00.
