## Description

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee assists pharmacists in providing safe and effective pharmaceutical care.

**Essential Functions** The trainee participates in various aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing medication orders and receiving prescriptions

- Completing required paperwork and assisting with billing

- Stocking medication and delivering it to patients

- Supporting patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals

- Communicating effectively with caregivers and stakeholders

The trainee will receive paid on-the-job training and is expected to complete an approved pharmacy technician training program within one year.

**Skills** The ideal candidate will have:

- Basic computer skills and attention to detail

- Ability to learn technical responsibilities and seek training and feedback

- Understanding of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to pharmacy practice

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

**Qualifications**

- Must be at least 17 years old

- Enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician training program

- Specific licensure requirements for Utah, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada

**Physical Requirements**

- Carrying, hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, and seeing
