## Description

We are seeking a volunteer to join our team at Utah Valley Hospital. As a volunteer, you will contribute your time to various roles, supporting patients, families, and guests. You will be expected to commit to six consecutive months, serving 3-4 hours once a week, and communicate regularly with the Volunteer Services office.

After applying and completing an interview, you may select an available position and shift that suits your schedule. New volunteers typically start with an information desk position for their first three months. After completing this initial period, you may remain in your current position or request a new opportunity in areas such as Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Department, Gift Shop, Critical Care, Hospital Runner, Information Desk, Operating Room Runner, or Wound Care.

The comprehensive volunteer onboarding process may take two to three weeks, depending on your availability to complete the required tasks.

Responsibilities vary by volunteer assignment, but basic competencies include:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Sensitivity to patient and family situations and dynamics

- Ability to speak, read, and understand English

- Ability to work independently within the scope of assigned duties

- Ability to work with diverse populations

- Understanding of the boundaries and limitations of your assigned role

Training will be provided for Clinical Skills Assessment and Department Training Verification.
