## Description

We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our pre-assessment department, specializing in providing care to various surgical specialties. As a key member of our team, you will work autonomously, completing pre-assessment for a caseload of patients, undertaking targeted histories, and assessing past medical, operative, and anaesthetic history.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Complete pre-assessment for patients, prioritizing based on triage pathways and optimizing high-risk patients

- Conduct testing as per NICE guidelines, interpret results, and initiate referrals to healthcare teams

- Perform venepuncture, ECG, lung function testing, and request X-rays as needed

- Identify patients with specific health issues, undertake risk scoring, and manage results

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anaesthetic documentation and key factors requiring referral

- Provide support and advice to patients, carers, family, and staff

- Maintain accurate health records using Lifebox pre-assessment software

- Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and Hospital policies

**Requirements:**

- Registered Nurse (Adult) with a valid NMC registration

- Diploma/degree in a relevant subject desirable

- Post-registration qualification desirable

- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in nursing

- Previous experience in providing nurse-led pre-assessment services desirable

- Excellent clinical skills
