## Description

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager working within the Psychological Medicine and Older Adult Directorate of the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

The Deputy Ward Manager will work closely with the Ward Manager to provide full clinical and managerial leadership to ensure the effective provision, management and development of service delivery, whilst encouraging a person-centred, therapeutic environment for patients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Promoting and developing clinical leadership and practice

- Supporting professional development through clinical appraisal and supervision

- Delivering high-quality safe nursing care

- Overseeing medication management

- Coordinating junior staff and overseeing admissions and discharges

The ideal candidate will have:

- Registered Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse qualification

- BSc in mental health or equivalent

- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Experience of working with older adults

- Experience of supporting and developing staff through supervision and coaching

The salary for this role is £47,951 to £56,863 per annum, inclusive of HCAS.

This is a full-time, secondment opportunity based at Hayworth Ward - Ladywell Unit, Lewisham High Street, London, SE13 6LW.
