## Description

GitLab is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for its Trusted Agentic Development team, which focuses on building platforms for engineers to validate agent-generated software with confidence.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, Trusted Agentic Development, you'll own the technical thesis for closing the validation gap and build the early proof yourself. You'll rethink what validation means when the author is an agent and make the feedback loop fast, automatic, and trustworthy enough that teams choose to adopt it.

Key responsibilities include:

- Owning the technical thesis for validating software when an agent is the author

- Prototyping feedback mechanisms that catch the gap between passing tests and working software

- Developing approaches for GitLab's primary stacks, starting with Rust, Ruby, and Go

- Designing mid-loop feedback for agents to self-correct toward working software

- Collaborating with engineering teams to adopt these approaches and measure adoption

The ideal candidate will have:

- Deep experience building software with artificial intelligence agents

- A strong point of view on the validation gap and concrete ideas for closing it

- Technical range to design systems and judgment to know when a solution should be general or language-specific

- Ability to influence engineers across an organization without formal authority

- Strong written communication skills

Poland base salary range: 272,000 PLN – 408,000 PLN.
