## Description

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team at Mastercard in Pune, India.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will design and code a variety of applications covering transaction processing, analytics, user interfaces, and APIs using a blend of cutting-edge technologies across big data, distributed systems, machine learning, and more.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Owning complex problems with dependency across services and facilitating cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution

- Driving prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners

- Automating and simplifying all aspects of software delivery and development

- Introducing new technologies and architecture by following enterprise guidelines

- Providing development and architecture guidance to team members

You will also be expected to:

- Write secure code and have hands-on experience with Java, Spring

- Have hands-on experience with AI-based development, GitHub Copilot, Claude code

- Have hands-on experience with messaging systems like Kafka, event-driven architecture

- Be familiar with secure coding standards and vulnerability management

- Understand and implement Application Programming Interface (API) standards and cataloguing

- Have skills to elaborate and estimate non-functional requirements, including security, regulatory, and performance

- Be able to perform debugging and troubleshooting to analyze core, heap, thread dumps and remove coding errors

- Have skills to conduct product demos and coordinate with product owners to drive product acceptance signoffs

- Drive operational excellence by suggesting improvements to product modules/features using test data, performance data, and production metrics
