## Description

Janes is looking for a Geopolitical Intelligence Analyst to join their Country Intelligence team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and classifying global security-related events, such as terrorism, crime, and geopolitics.

Key responsibilities include:

- Tracking and monitoring approved news sites and other open sources

- Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and currency of events captured

- Summarising each event and capturing necessary attributes to create structured datasets

- Conducting in-depth quality checks of events gathered via automation

The ideal candidate will have:

- A comprehensive understanding of geopolitical dynamics, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region

- Strong OSINT collection skills

- Proficiency in collecting and synthesising data from open sources

- Experience in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential risk

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to execute projects within tight time constraints

- Proven research abilities using open source skills and techniques in different languages
