## Description

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs.

Responsibilities:

- Providing patient care under the direction of the clinician, gathering information relevant to the patient's visit and condition.

- Communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide patient care, with attention to detail and follow-through.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Completion of a Medical Assistant program, or at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.

- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.

- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high-quality care.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.

- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.

- Current national MA certification.

Physical Requirements:

- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.

- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and hearing.

- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex equipment with precision and accuracy.

- Expected to lift and utilise full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve supplies and equipment, and walk to assist with transporting patients.
