## Description

Working as a Target Security Specialist means helping create a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. You will be part of the Assets Protection team, which focuses on preventing and resolving theft and fraud, as well as responding to crisis events.

As a Target Security Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests

- Responding to and documenting security incidents in a timely manner

- Using de-escalation tactics and resources to resolve conflicts

- Conducting merchandise theft recoveries and providing theft apprehension support

- Preventing theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks

- Submitting documentation in the case management system for all incidents

- Understanding and using Target's video surveillance system

- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance

To succeed in this role, you should:

- Enjoy interacting with and helping others

- Be able to work in a fast-moving, physically demanding environment

- Be flexible and able to work varying hours, days, or shifts

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent

- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position

- Possess effective communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team

- Be able to lift or move merchandise up to 40 pounds

- Be able to climb up and down ladders

- Be capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
