## Description

We are seeking an Associate Shipping/Receiving Specialist to join our team in Owego, NY. As a key member of our distribution team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials.

Responsibilities:

- Verify and process incoming and outgoing shipments, including identification and damage inspection

- Confirm receipt and shipping documentation for internal and external customers

- Handle hazardous goods in accordance with DOT requirements and validate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical shipments

- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and manage warehouse operations

- Pick and fill orders using a laptop computer or hand scanner, and prepare warehouse pull and return

- Schedule, track, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure proper routing and storing of goods

- Assist other departments with transport and delivery inquiries

- Complete export documentation and shipping manifests, including documentation for dangerous goods

- Demonstrate knowledge of governmental trade compliance and environmental regulations

- Arrange for cost-efficient transportation of products to their destination while meeting customer deadlines

- Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements and timely delivery of products

- Participate in key projects to support continuous improvement

- Load and off-load material to/from delivery trucks, sort, reconcile, and enter information into the ERP system

- Pick-up and deliver material and/or documents within the site

- Match paperwork to boxes and prepare orders for billing/shipping

- Lift and carry cartons weighing up to 35 lbs. and manage heavier cartons using available safety tools

Requirements:

- 3+ years of related work experience

- Ability to read, write, and follow safety guidelines and instructions

- Experience operating material handling equipment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications

- Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record

- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift and carry cartons weighing up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
