## Description

As a software developer with a quality and automation mindset at Cisco in Galway, Ireland, you will be part of our engineering team working closely with colleagues locally and internationally. You will focus on building and maintaining automated tests and test infrastructure in Python, designing and improving the quality and testing approach, and working across the software stack to identify gaps and close them with automation.

**Your Impact** You will be responsible for:

- Building and maintaining automated tests and test infrastructure in Python

- Helping design and improve the quality and testing approach

- Working across the software stack to identify gaps and close them with automation

- Setting up metrics, dashboards, and alarms for product quality and test health

- Improving developer workflows by building tooling

- Building software with quality and attention to detail

**Minimum Qualifications**

- Degree in computer science or equivalent

- 6 years+ of professional software or test automation engineering experience

- Experience in Python, C++, including writing clean code, testing, and debugging

- Experience writing unit and integration tests, and building or extending automated test suites

- Experience working with Linux and Networking

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Familiarity with core DevOps tools such as Git, Linux/Unix environments, CI/CD pipelines, and basic containerization (Docker)

- Experience testing or automating against embedded, Android, or device platforms

- Familiarity with building or integrating APIs

- Interest or experience in using AI tools to automate development, test, and operational workflows

- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence quality practices across a team
