## Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Windows and Devices team at Microsoft. The successful candidate will contribute to developing and operating next-generation services that support the delivery of iconic products like Surface and Xbox.

**Overview** The Windows and Devices mission is to create innovative, trusted, and open products focused on people, showcasing Microsoft's best and empowering everyone to achieve more. Microsoft Devices designs and manufactures premium hardware like Surface and Xbox, innovating throughout the supply and manufacturing process.

**Responsibilities**

- AI-driven development & code quality: Leverage AI across the SDLC, leading high-quality coding practices, ensuring secure, scalable, maintainable code through strong reviews, testing, and best practices.

- Reliability & live-site excellence: Use telemetry, debugging, and root cause analysis to proactively prevent issues, improve system health, and drive incident resolution as DRI.

- Architecture & design leadership: Own or influence complex system design and architecture, balancing performance, scalability, cost, and trade-offs.

- Security, compliance & safe deployment: Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and compliance standards while driving automation, CI/CD, and safe, efficient deployments.

- Collaboration & continuous improvement: Partner cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end solutions, incorporate customer insights, and continuously improve systems, processes, and engineering outcomes.

**Qualifications**

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

- 6+ years of experience in Azure technologies design, deployment, and support.

- 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain operations, designing and maintaining backend services supporting business requirements.

**Salary Information** The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year.
