## Description

As a Director of Software Engineering at Mastercard, you will provide technical leadership and expertise within the development lifecycle for ecommerce payment authentication platforms.

The role involves leading large, diverse technology centers supporting MasterCard Business Partners processing needs and internal and external customer requirements, with financial, organizational, and policy responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing leadership and strategic direction to multiple teams and/or functional areas

- Ensuring approved staffing levels are maintained, departmental and staff education, training, and cross-training needs are met

- Reviewing, approving, and implementing new or revised operational processes and procedures

- Providing resources and budget to deliver timely, effective, efficient, and predictable processing services

- Responding to operational and business concerns or issues relative to future business programs, projects, or enhancements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent education

- 15+ years of experience in the software engineering field, including technical leadership experience

- Excellent understanding and knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies

- Exposure to Agile is mandatory, SAFE Agile experience is desirable

- Experience in Java, Junits, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and web services

- Working knowledge of cloud-based application development, microservices development, and Unix systems

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to acquire and retain top talent, manage multiple functional areas, and lead large complex projects

Preferred skills:

- Experience in EMVCO 3DS Payments domain

- Formal business or management training, including Project Management, Financial Management, and Strategic Planning

- Knowledge of payment domain, especially card payments domain

- Experience with application security, circuit breakers, REST API standards, encryption, SSL, and mutual SSL
