## Description

As a Senior Manager, Data Science in the Model Risk Office at Capital One, you will partner with a cross-functional team to identify and quantify risks associated with models.

You will leverage a broad stack of technologies, including PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, and Vector Databases, to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of multi-modal data.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Building machine learning models to challenge champion models deployed in production today

- Contributing to the model governance framework for the next generation of models

- Validating a wide variety of models across multiple business domains

- Presenting identified model risks to executives

The ideal candidate is innovative, creative, a leader, technical, statistically-minded, and a data guru.

Basic qualifications include:

- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field

- 7, 5, or 2 years of experience performing data analytics, respectively

- 2 years of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- 2 years of experience working with machine learning

- 2 years of experience utilizing relational databases

Preferred qualifications include:

- A PhD in a STEM field

- 1 year of experience working with AWS

- 1 year of experience managing people

- 5 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis

- 5 years of experience with machine learning

The salary range for this role is: Chicago, IL: $209,000 - $238,500 McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400 Richmond, VA: $209,000 - $238,500

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation.
