## Description

WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer – Substation - Civil & Structural to join its Power department.

The successful candidate will work out of an office in India, collaborating closely with the office in the USA, and report directly to the Structural Discipline Lead, Power & Energy, USA North.

The initial responsibility will be to participate in T&D projects as a technical expert and project lead. The ultimate goal is to build a small team of engineers and technicians in India, potentially led by the candidate or a dedicated group leader, who can deliver T&D projects semi-autonomously.

## Responsibilities

- Support multidisciplinary project managers in the USA North by contributing to estimating engineering efforts, project planning, and technical project execution for substation structural design.

- Supervise a team of intermediate and junior structural engineering contributors in India for substation structural design.

- For single-discipline projects, lead the technical execution effort, monitor deadlines, and perform QA/QC.

- Lead technical aspects of projects, including steel design, foundation design, drafting efforts, and coordination with the HV electrical team.

- Contribute to building and developing a team specializing in the structural engineering of substations.

## Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree is an asset.

- 10-12 years of experience in designing and detailing structural systems and foundations for transmission-level substations or relevant experience in a similar role for projects with US design codes.

- Knowledge and mastery of USA structural building norms and Codes.

- Proficiency with structural design software such as RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, RAM Structural Systems, or similar.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to execute with minimal direction, take initiative, and prioritize work independently.

- Strong ability to lead drafting designers in preparing construction documents.

- Strong and demonstrated ability to coordinate structural design with civil design.

- Very good English, spoken and written.
