## Description

The Senior Manager, Senior Counsel in the Corporate and Strategic Transactions (CAST) team at Capital One will be responsible for managing a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, and complex procurement contracts.

The CAST team is a dynamic group of attorneys and legal professionals that advise Capital One's diversified businesses on various business matters.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned legal professional with experience in corporate and strategic transactions, exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a complex, highly regulated environment.

**Responsibilities:**

- Manage and coordinate a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, and complex procurement contracts

- Work with business groups to provide legal advice on complex issues

- Implement and monitor repeatable processes for transactional work

- Manage and coordinate outside counsel

**Requirements:**

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

- At least 4 years of experience in a law firm, government, or in-house legal department

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience with commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating

- Experience providing advice and counsel on transactions to clients in the travel or financial services industry

- Ability to learn new areas of law

- Experience with Google Workspace

The salary range for this role is:

- McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 per year

- Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 per year
