## Description

The Health and Life Sciences team at WSP helps organisations become more efficient and effective in core sectors such as improving patient pathways for the NHS, developing laboratories for world-leading science, and rationalising educational campuses.

As a Cost Manager, you will support project delivery across health and life sciences sectors, providing full cost management services from initial feasibility to completion on complex refurbishments and new-build schemes.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver robust cost plans and support procurement and tendering

- Administer contracts and ensure strong cost control throughout the project lifecycle

- Work closely with NHS Trust, science clients, and design teams

- Manage tender processes, produce Tender and Value for Money reports

- Assist in cost management of projects through the entire project lifecycle

- Prepare estimates, cost plans using the NRM-based approach

- Prepare pricing schedules, tender and contract documentation

- Undertake monthly assessments for payment

- Conduct construction phase cost management, including attending site meetings and negotiating variations with contractors

- Produce cost reports and cash flows, presenting to stakeholders

Requirements:

- Experience in project delivery using common procurement and contract strategies

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management

- Desire to develop your career and become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor

- Demonstrable track record of successful outcomes and ability to work under own initiative

- Understanding of typical traditional and design and build contract terms and conditions

- Competence in project controls and financial management

- Strong communication and client-facing skills
