## Description

We're looking for a strong Staff Software Engineer to join our Ford Pro Intelligence (FPI) Telematics team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture and leading development of core API services, data pipelines, and frontends. You will participate in and/or lead the development of requirements, features, user stories, use cases, and test cases. You will also architect and design solutions for large projects that cut across multiple teams in FPI and partner teams in Ford Engineering.

Our stack includes Kotlin/Springboot APIs and ETL processors, React frontend, PostgresDB & Redis, and GCP (CloudRun, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, BigTable).

You will have a bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. You will have 7+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years of professional experience in back-end API development, with deep proficiency in modern languages such as Java or Kotlin. You will also have 5+ years of experience designing, optimizing, and managing relational databases and complex SQL queries, specifically with PostgreSQL.

You will be highly effective in working with other technical experts, Product Managers, Dev Ops, Big Data, UI/UX Designers and business stakeholders. You will have experience with RESTful interfaces and OAS standards, Springboot services, and pub/sub architecture and in general other cloud capabilities.
