## Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Electronic Trading Summer Associate Program at Barclays. As a summer intern, you will dive into our culture, engage in real projects, and gain a comprehensive business overview.

The purpose of this role is to bring quantitative and analytical expertise to bear across the full spectrum of our Markets and Risk businesses. You will play an important role in the design and development of risk management and trading strategies, through the use of quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing and implementing quantitative models and strategies to enhance decision-making, pricing, and risk management

- Designing and maintaining high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, integrating new features to improve reliability and user experience

- Conducting research and data analysis to uncover market trends and drive innovation through advanced methodologies and technologies

- Collaborating with traders, sales teams, and stakeholders in Risk and Finance to deliver customised solutions and translate business needs into scalable tech tools

- Working cross-functionally with compliance, IT, and strategy teams to resolve system issues and continuously improve trading infrastructure

As an Assistant Vice President, you will be expected to advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have mathematical and programming skills (ideally in Java, C++, or Python), a keen interest in business and finance, and a curiosity to learn.
