## Description

FUCHS is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Harvey, IL. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the physical testing of routine samples, recording of accurate test results, and performing daily instrument calibrations.

Responsibilities:

- Use established methods to perform routine analyses on in-use customer submitted samples

- Maintain acceptable turnaround times for routine analyses

- Perform testing on other samples as appropriate

- Maintain equipment and properly standardize/calibrate instrumentation

- Record test data proficiently and accurately

- Prepare laboratory reagents

- Assist with weekly inventory of supplies

- Participate in general housekeeping including routine cleaning and maintenance

Qualifications:

- 1-3 years of industrial laboratory experience

- Basic knowledge of wet chemistry

- Comfortable working as part of a team

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations in a constructive manner

- Excellent verbal and good written communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

- Four-year degree in a science field (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc.)

- Associates degree with relevant experience

- Experience with XRF, FTIR, viscosity, titrations, Karl Fischer, flash point measurements

- Microsoft applications experience (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)

- LIMS computer system experience

- Mechanical aptitude
