## Description

We are seeking an Associate to join our expanding team in Glasgow, working across the Healthcare and Large Loss teams. As an Associate, you will handle a varied caseload of defender pre-litigated and litigated healthcare and large loss cases for insurers and corporate risk clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage your own case load of pre and post-litigation clinical negligence and large loss claims.

- Prepare advice to insurers and other corporate clients.

- Adhere to court deadlines and manage files in accordance with client SLA’s.

- Conduct forensic reviews and analysis of relevant documents assessing liability, quantum and causation in claims.

- Liaise with clients and conduct site visits.

- Prepare court documents and correspondence to clients/witnesses.

- Prepare witness statements.

- Liaise with clients/other insurers/policyholders/witnesses.

- Provide instructions to experts.

- Work with counsel.

- Negotiate settlements.

- Perform court appearance work.

- Assist Partners and other team members where required.

- Build and develop relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

- Assist in business development initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

- 5-10 years of litigation experience (large loss and/or clinical negligence).

- Experience of litigation in the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and Court of Session.

- Team player with excellent communication, forensic, and organisational skills.

- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

- Previous experience of complex and/or clinical negligence claims is required.

- Previous experience of time recording is preferable.
