The role will contribute to the delivery of the 10-Year Health Plan and the integration of DHSC and NHS England into a new, more agile organisation, helping to improve health and care outcomes for people across the country.

As a Business Support and Operations Officer, you could work in a range of roles across the department, including policy, corporate services and delivery. You will take responsibility for your own work, manage competing priorities and work with others to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will build effective working relationships, respond flexibly to changing demands and identify opportunities to improve how work is delivered.

Responsibilities:

- Manage your own work and priorities, making sure tasks are completed accurately and on time

- Coordinate work across the team, keeping track of actions, deadlines and priorities

- Produce clear and accurate information, including correspondence, briefings, reports and presentations

- Maintain records and management information to track progress and support decisions

- Work with colleagues and stakeholders to solve problems and deliver priorities

- Help the team work effectively, responding to changing priorities and improving ways of working

Person specification:

- Experience of taking ownership of your own work and delivering accurate work on time with limited supervision

- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activity, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and well-structured information for different audiences

- Good judgement and problem-solving skills, including knowing when to ask for help or raise an issue

- Ability to build effective working relationships and work with others to deliver shared priorities

- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and improve ways of working

Benefits:

- Salary of £30,827.68 - £35,202.96 per year

- Contribution of £8,930 towards being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme

- Learning and development tailored to your role

- An environment with flexible working options

- A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity
