## Description

We are seeking a senior data scientist to take ownership and lead analytical initiatives related to family experience (FamXP), investigation analysis, and platform security, with a direct impact on teams and products. As a senior data scientist, you will leverage your expertise to transform ambiguous business questions into actionable insights, handling sensitive data with rigor and discretion. This role requires the ability to lead cross-functional projects, establish strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple teams, and maintain the highest standards in data protection and security.

### Responsibilities

- Take ownership and deliver end-to-end analytical projects for family experience and platform security, from problem definition to impact measurement, including telemetry setup, report production, and automation.

- Resolve ambiguous problems related to family experience and platform security by designing analyses, evaluating options, and making autonomous decisions in a dynamic environment.

- Implement team and product strategies through analytical planning, translating strategy into clear indicators, roadmaps, and success criteria, and contributing to team objective definition.

- Design and maintain high-quality production-ready indicators, dashboards, and data models to monitor security, parental controls, and age-appropriate experiences across the Epic ecosystem.

- Foster alignment with platform security, product, programming, legal, and policy teams by managing expectations and compromises.

- Handle sensitive data related to minors and security incidents with discretion, applying best practices in data protection, security, and data governance at Epic.

- Mentor other team members and organization product staff by sharing best practices, reviewing work, and elevating analytical standards.

### Requirements

- 6-10 years of demonstrated experience in taking ownership and delivering analytical projects with measurable impact on teams and products or the organization.

- Excellent mastery of SQL, with knowledge of Python and PySpark considered an asset, as well as experience working with large datasets and modern data environments such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Spark, and familiarity with version control and workflow orchestration tools.

- Demonstrated ability to resolve ambiguous problems and make autonomous decisions with little or no supervision.

- Experience transforming complex or disorganized data into high-quality production-ready indicators, dashboards, and data models supporting decision-making and operational tracking.

- Strong judgment in handling sensitive or regulated data, with practical knowledge of data protection, security, and compliance practices.

- Ability to execute team and product strategies through planning and prioritization, translating objectives into measurable results, and contributing to team objective definition.

- Demonstrated history of collaboration and alignment with immediate, adjacent, and broader organization product teams.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders through clear, concise, and decision-oriented communication.

- Demonstrated experience in mentoring within product or analytical teams, including accompaniment, work review, and standard elevation.

- Solid expertise in platform security and/or online family experiences, such as moderation, account security, community health, fraud prevention, or security feature measurement.
