## Description

We are seeking an AI Engineer to join our team at Barclays, located in Pune. As an AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and improve software that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

**Responsibilities**

- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance optimisation.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.

- Participate in code reviews, promote code quality, and share knowledge with peers.

- Stay updated on industry technology trends and contribute to the organisation's technology communities.

- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.

- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.

- Lead a team, set objectives, coach employees, and evaluate performance.

- Demonstrate leadership behaviours, including listening, energising, aligning, and developing others.

- Alternatively, as an individual contributor, lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, and identify new directions for projects.

- Provide advice to People Leaders, mitigate risks, and develop new policies and procedures.

- Perform complex analysis, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders.

**Requirements**

- Strong hands-on experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies.

- Experience building, fine-tuning, and evaluating AI agents and LLM-powered applications.

- Proficiency in Python development and AI application frameworks.

- Experience with LangChain, Langfuse, and related AI orchestration tools.

- Experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions.

**Desirable Skills**

- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, microservices, and cloud-native application architectures.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.

- Familiarity with MLOps, AI observability, monitoring, and model lifecycle management.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
