## Description

You will join Synopsys, the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will apply your deep expertise in hardware validation to validate IP that enables connectivity in millions of devices worldwide.

Your role will involve deploying AI and automation frameworks to characterize mixed-signal IP blocks, designing and building laboratory test setups, operating high-end lab equipment, troubleshooting complex hardware and measurement issues, interpreting circuit schematics, and documenting test procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

- Deploying AI and automation frameworks to characterize mixed-signal IP blocks including HDMI, DisplayPort, and MIPI interfaces

- Designing and building laboratory test setups, selecting instruments, designing fixtures, and validating signal integrity across the measurement chain

- Operating high-end lab equipment including oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators, network analyzers, and protocol analyzers

- Troubleshooting complex hardware and measurement issues

- Interpreting circuit schematics, layout files, and test specifications to validate IP performance against design requirements

- Documenting test procedures, results, and setup configurations for reproducibility and knowledge transfer across the global team

- Collaborating with hardware design engineers to improve test setups, propose new measurement techniques, and close validation gaps

The impact you will have includes validating IP blocks that enable high-speed connectivity in devices, reducing time-to-market by automating characterization workflows, catching signal integrity and performance issues early, building reusable test infrastructure, providing design teams with accurate performance data, and helping maintain Synopsys's reputation for delivering IP that meets spec in real-world systems.

Requirements include a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline, 5+ years applying automation or advanced test methodologies to hardware validation or product development, strong knowledge of mixed-signal IC concepts, proficiency in Python, hands-on experience with lab instruments, solid understanding of transmission line theory, and experience with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting.
