## Description

WSP is seeking a Construction Inspector based in Glastonbury, Connecticut, to oversee highway, bridge, and rail construction projects throughout Connecticut.

The Inspector will perform various tasks, including:

- Inspecting highway and bridge construction operations to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans

- Taking field measurements and calculations for quantity payment items

- Completing daily work reports

- Assisting other team members in inspection duties

- Interfacing with contractors' supervisors to coordinate and monitor daily work

- Coordinating independent material sampling and testing

- Monitoring maintenance of traffic

- Taking and compiling photographs of work activities

The ideal candidate will have:

- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field, or NICET 2, or CMIT Level 3

- At least 1 year of construction inspection experience (2 years with NICET 2 or CMIT 3)

- Strong oral and written technical communication skills

- Ability to learn how to read plans and specifications

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel

- A valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation

Preferred qualifications include:

- Engineer-In-Training certification

- ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring

- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as AASHTOWare Project, Headlight, Procore, or similar systems

- Knowledge of Bluebeam
