As an Overhead Line Associate, you will design a range of Overhead Line Circuits at voltages from 11kV to 400kV.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare, review, and approve transmission line tower and foundation designs, including associated documents and accessories.

- Create engineering documents related to transmission tower and foundation design.

- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards.

- Optimize tower and foundation weight based on tender quantities.

- Perform sag tension calculations and estimate tower weights at the tender stage.

- Design transmission towers using PLS Tower software, line designs with PLS CADD, and pole designs with PLS Pole.

- Develop engineering design calculations and documentation.

- Assist in creating material bill of quantity schedules.

- Participate in virtual site meetings and provide design drawing changes and support during project execution.

- Review supplier and client designs for technical compliance with current legislation and policies.

Project Coordination:

- Collaborate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.

Client Focus:

- Identify key client interests and drivers on moderately complex projects.

- Communicate client needs to project team members and develop approaches to address these concerns.

- Offer additional services to clients.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in designing UK Overhead Line Circuits (towers and/or poles) up to 400kV.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience.

- UK project and standards experience is an advantage.

- Ability to lead and mentor teams, manage projects, deliver complex designs, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

- Knowledge of applicable engineering standards and proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, PLS Pole, or similar software.
