The role involves documenting patient encounters, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, and preparing after-visit summaries. Responsibilities: - Documenting patient encounters (~80%) - Joining providers in exam rooms to observe patient visits - Documenting patient encounters in structured notes - Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes - Preparing after-visit summaries - Consulting with providers to ensure accurate documentation - Clinical documentation improvement (~10%) - Requesting and reviewing medical records - Leveraging population health tools - Supporting daily huddles and clinical documentation reviews - Administrative support for providers and care teams (~10%) - Placing orders and referrals - Addressing tasks - Supporting care teams with additional responsibilities Requirements: - Minimum typing speed of 55 WPM (70+ WPM preferred) - 1-year commitment (2+ years preferred) - Excellent job attendance, working in-person ≈40-45 hours/week - Advanced listening and communication skills - Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical processes - Self-starter with ability to take direction and work as a team member - Adaptability to new workflows and quick learning of new concepts - Compliance with hospital and Oak Street Health policies, including HIPAA - US work authorization Preferred qualifications: - Recent graduate or current student in a healthcare-based degree program - Experience in detail-oriented roles - Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications - Prior clinical experience - Fluency in another language The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $28.46 per hour.
