## Description

WSP is seeking a Senior Substation P&C Engineer for its Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC offices. The successful candidate will work on projects with the Power & Energy Substation Team, providing technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.

The role involves designing and developing transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, power regulation, renewable energy, and protection and control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical engineering principles, practices, and design software, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Determining methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components and equipment specifications

- Reviewing and advising on third-party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans

- Performing professional and complex electrical engineering work, including designing single line, three line, wiring diagrams, and substation layouts

- Developing electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, grounding touch and step potentials, short-circuit studies, and protective device coordination

- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates, as well as construction safety and phasing plans

- Providing guidance and training to entry-level engineers

- Interacting with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 per year.
