## Description

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President - Tax at Barclays, based in Mumbai.

The successful candidate will provide corporate and indirect advisory and compliance tax services to business areas in a specific jurisdiction(s).

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage tax risks arising from business activities, investments, and financial transactions.

- Develop tax risk management strategies to mitigate potential tax liabilities.

- Analyse complex tax issues to support tax planning strategies and compliance matters.

- Liaise with tax authorities and resolve legacy tax risks.

- Identify and assess potential tax risks associated with complex transactions.

- Develop and implement tax risk mitigation strategies.

- Ensure stakeholder understanding and management of tax requirements and risks.

- Stay updated on relevant tax law developments.

- Prepare or review tax returns and accounting calculations.

- Design and operate tax process controls.

As an Assistant Vice President, you will:

- Advise and influence decision-making.

- Contribute to policy development.

- Lead a team performing complex tasks.

- Set objectives and coach employees.

- Demonstrate leadership behaviours.

Requirements:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant.

- Experience in taxation.

- Experience working in an MNC or Big 4 firm covering GSC clients.

- In-depth knowledge of tax matters.

- Good networking and people management skills.

- Understanding of tax issues within offshoring business.
