## Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer II to support our Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) program at Scott AFB, IL. The successful candidate will work in our Joint Fires Network (JFN) NOC, providing 24x7 support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

The Network Engineer II will be responsible for executing network operations, including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches. They will also perform real-time circuit redesign to restore customer connectivity during outages and maintenance actions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring network alarms across platform-specific network management tools

- Performing change management tasks, such as hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management

- Utilizing incident management applications to document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions

- Assessing, identifying, and recommending resolutions to network incidents and deficiencies

- Working with internal and external customers, government agencies, and other engineering tiers to ensure maximum network availability

The ideal candidate will have:

- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)

- Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment

- Working knowledge of both Transport and IP network topologies

- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

Preferred qualifications include:

- Tech control facility or cyber transport experience

- Circuit actions and vendor experience

- IP/Transport architecture experience

- Solarwinds and JIRA experience

- Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience

- Experience with MS Office suite

- Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management
