## Description

WSP is seeking an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer for their Billings, MT office.

The role involves providing technical assistance and guidance for the planning, design, and construction support of utility transmission and distribution substations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect and analyse data related to substation equipment selection and specifications

- Apply IEEE, NESC, and utility/client standards throughout the design process

- Perform electrical engineering work for substation physical design and/or protection and control (P&C) design

- Support development of general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, and equipment arrangements

- Develop and support the design of grounding grid systems and lightning protection

- Participate in concept development and detailed design for equipment sizing and cabling

- Conduct site walkdowns and field verification as needed

- Develop electrical calculations and prepare technical documentation

- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for design deliverables

- Collaborate with other engineers, disciplines, clients, and project stakeholders

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

- 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in electrical engineering

- Experience supporting substation physical design and/or protection and control (P&C) design deliverables

- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and application to substation design

- Working knowledge of utility standards and applicable codes

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail and results orientation
