## Description

We are seeking a Tooling Engineer to increase company profitability by providing well-designed equipment, tools, and fixtures for future programs and current production tools. The successful candidate will support the quotation process and provide input and direction in the sourcing, design, construction, PPAP, and launch of new tools, fixtures, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Provide input and direction in the sourcing, design, construction, PPAP, and launch of new tools, fixtures, and equipment for future programs and current changes

- Assist Tool-Room personnel and/or vendors in solving problems arising from production processes, tool tryouts, and launching of new programs

- Estimate, schedule, and execute all engineering changes of tooling, cost savings, etc.

- Coordinate these changes with Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance departments to ensure timely try-out and phase-in periods to meet production schedule requirements or customer's delivery dates

- Provide technical support for product development and design

- Use technology on new and current processes and tools to meet or exceed customer specifications

- Stay informed of the latest technologies with respect to tooling and report on and implement those ideas that will be of benefit to IMD

- Establish new and superior sourcing methods for new tooling, which will insure capability and improve cost-effectiveness of tools for the program

- Assist Program Managers to prepare internal quotes for new/existing programs and all engineering changes by issuing, coordinating, and proposing tooling and gauge suppliers

- Work with production to implement Poka-Yoke methods

- Work with Quality Engineer and others to establish characteristics and achievable tolerances for SPC

- Work in compliance with TS16949 Standards and all legislative requirements of the OHSA

- Conduct annual tool audits internal/external on all customer-owned tooling to ensure it is functioning and is being maintained in accordance with MNH tooling standards

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

- 5+ years of experience with assembly operations

- 5+ years of previous experience in cold stamping; hot stamping a plus

- Extensive knowledge and experience with design, development, and implementation of assembly fixtures and assembly tooling

- Effective communication skills with all levels of associates

- Hands-on experience on the plant floor

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience

- Experience as a tool and die maker a plus

- Computer skills in the area of spreadsheets, word processing, CAD, CMM, design, and databases

- Good interpersonal skills

- Travel requirements - as needed
