## Description

Priory Hospital Middleton St George in Darlington is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their established clinical team.

The successful candidate will provide clinical responsibility and take overall responsibility for assessing, treating, and caring for patients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu.

- Acting as the Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).

- Supervising the process of referral and admission, including contributing to pre-admission assessments.

- Contributing to clinical governance, service development, and strategic planning.

- Supervising and supporting junior medical staff and contributing to teaching and training.

The ideal candidate will hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent), and be included on the GMC Specialist Register. They will also have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
