Join M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Food section, where you'll be at the frontline of the UK’s fastest growing retailer.

We're seeking passionate individuals who not only take pride in their knowledge of M&S Food products but are also ready to roll their sleeves up and go again, day in and day out, meeting strong customer demand head-on.

As a Customer Assistant, you'll be a resilient and committed brand ambassador who’s ready to raise the bar by confidently recommending and selling our newest food products to our customers.

Responsibilities:

- Provide five-star service at pace

- Confidently recommend and sell M&S Food products

- Utilise digital tools to enhance the customer experience

- Contribute to a positive, high-energy environment

- Adapt to changing demands of the retail environment

- Work across various areas of the store

Requirements:

- Availability to work early mornings (6:00am - 10:00am) on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays

- Increased hours during the lead-up to Christmas (up to 40 hours per week)

- Digital confidence and ability to use in-store devices

- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands

Benefits:

- Competitive pay

- Unsocial premium (£3.00 per hour for hours worked between 22:00-06:00)

Working Pattern:

- Sunday: 06:00-10:00

- Wednesday: 06:00-10:00

- Saturday: 06:00-10:00

Due to operational requirements, successful candidates must be available to work increased hours during the lead-up to Christmas. Hours are expected to increase from 12-30 hours during the week commencing 13 December 2026 to 40 hours during the week commencing 20 December 2026.

Candidates must be available to work between 20 and 24 December 2026, and on 26 and 27 December 2026.
