## Description

As a Principal Data Scientist at Capital One, you'll lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies. You'll partner with a cross-functional team to build a next-generation entity resolution solution, leveraging cutting-edge machine learning approaches.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to build a next-generation entity resolution solution

- Leverage technologies like Python, AWS, Spark, and modern machine learning models to reveal insights in large datasets

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development

- Leverage Agentic AI tools and workflows to build and test

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The Ideal Candidate:

- Is innovative, staying current with emerging technologies and seeking opportunities to apply them

- Is creative, thriving on defining big, undefined problems and finding answers

- Is technical, comfortable with open-source languages and developing data science solutions

- Is statistically-minded, with experience building and validating models

- Is a data guru, skilled in retrieving, combining, and analyzing data from various sources

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science) plus 5 years of experience in data analytics

- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience in data analytics

- PhD in a quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM field

- Experience working with AWS

- At least 3 years' experience in Python, Scala, or R

- At least 3 years' experience with machine learning

- At least 3 years' experience with SQL
