## Description

We are seeking a full-time Broadcast Engineer to join the Technology team at KYTX-TV, a CBS station owned by TEGNA Inc. in Tyler, Texas.

As a Broadcast Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the station's technical equipment, including traditional broadcast hardware and industry-specific software.

Responsibilities:

- Support daily news operations, equipment, and computer-based IT systems.

- Install and maintain broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter sites, remote broadcast vehicles, and other remote locations.

- Troubleshoot equipment issues, make repairs, or implement workarounds as needed.

- Perform routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers.

- Contribute to technical documentation that accurately represents installed equipment.

- Occasionally participate in field work on remote productions and minor building-related maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

- 0-1 year of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field.

- Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills.

- Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.

- Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft's Active Directory environment.

- Ability to plan technical projects and clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates on project progress, and offer solutions to technical issues.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be available on-call.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks.
