The team invests in companies pursuing fundamental breakthroughs across major challenges in healthcare, including genetic disease, cardiometabolic disorders, cancer, women's health, and other areas of high unmet medical need.

As a Leaps Health Summer Associate/Intern, you will join the Leaps Healthcare investment team as part of a focused internship program designed for MBA, PhD, MD, PharmD, or other advanced-degree candidates.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Working with a high-performing team of investors, scientists, physicians, operators, and technologists focused on identifying and evaluating breakthrough healthcare and pharma investment opportunities;

- Combining scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial analysis to assess opportunities across therapeutics, platform technologies, precision medicine, digital health, and adjacent healthcare innovation areas;

- Reporting to the Head of Leaps by Bayer and working closely with the Director of Venture Investments;

- Completing two discrete, high-visibility projects focused on emerging healthcare and pharma investment themes, including market mapping, company screening, diligence, competitive analysis, and investment thesis development;

- Identifying new investment opportunities and presenting findings, recommendations, and key risks to a panel of senior leadership at the end of the summer.

To be considered, you should possess the following qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in an MBA, PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH, or other relevant graduate degree program with emphasis in life sciences, medicine, biotechnology, healthcare, finance, strategy, or business;

- Strong interest in healthcare, pharma, biotechnology, and venture investing, with the ability to evaluate early-stage companies and emerging technology platforms;

- Foundational understanding of drug discovery and development, translational medicine, clinical development, regulatory pathways, reimbursement dynamics, or healthcare commercialization;

- Ability to conduct scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial diligence, including market sizing, competitive landscape assessment, KOL/expert interview synthesis, and identification of key development risks and value inflection points;

- Ability to build financial models, valuation analyses, pro forma capitalization tables, ownership scenarios, and venture-related analyses.
