## Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our General Services team in Meridian, MS.

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial building systems, fixtures, and equipment, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

- Perform preventative maintenance, complete on-demand requests, and respond to emergency callouts.

- Coordinate with contractors and skilled trades to complete maintenance tasks and project assignments.

- Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

- Read and interpret technical schematics and architectural and engineering drawings.

- Use common and specialized hand and power tools, test equipment, and welding or brazing equipment.

Requirements:

- Vocational/Technical Education with broad technical experience in commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

- Universal refrigerant certification.

- Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems and equipment.

- Technical knowledge and training across various trades.

- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors and skilled trades.

- Familiarity with applicable building codes, standards, and guidelines.

- Strong planning, scheduling, organizational, and time-management skills.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.

Physical Requirements:

- Lift at least 50 pounds.

- Perform work assignments indoors and outdoors in varying climates and weather conditions.

- Use safe work practices at all times.

- Operate a commercial motor vehicle.

Additional Requirements:

- Complete the CAST pre-employment test.

- Available for emergency callouts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

- Respond to building emergencies and support disaster preparation and recovery activities.
