## Description

Priory Hospital Barnt Green has an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager with an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council to join our team on our female PICU ward.

The Deputy Ward Manager will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. They will work as a Senior Nurse within the ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic and inclusive environment for patients, families, visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

- Applying relevant policies, statutory requirements and governance frameworks, ensuring risks are assessed and managed and safe staffing and skill mix are maintained.

- Providing clinical leadership and supervision, supporting the CPD, mandatory training, appraisal and performance management of staff, and acting as a role model for learning and development.

- Supporting junior staff and student nurses, implementing and evaluating therapeutic interventions, promoting patient involvement and collaborative problem-solving, and contributing to effective multidisciplinary working and risk management.

- Acting as Named Nurse and Associate Nurse, regularly leading shifts, undertaking ward lead roles, providing clinical supervision, and deputising for the Ward Manager when required.
