As a Target Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in keeping our guests, team, and brand secure and leading through crisis events. Your responsibilities will include:

- Creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments such as greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues

- Actively supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude

- Adjusting to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience

- Promoting a physical security culture for our team members and guests by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store

- Responding to and accurately documenting security incidents in a timely manner

- Appropriately responding to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment for our team members and guests

- Leveraging de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents across the store

- Conducting merchandise theft recoveries and providing theft apprehension support as needed

- Preventing theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks

- Submitting appropriate documentation in the case management system for all incidents

- Understanding and appropriately using Target's video surveillance system

- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance

- Working in a safe manner at all times; complying with all safety policies, best practices, and training; reporting hazards and correcting where possible

This role requires:

- Being at least 18 years of age or older

- Having a high school diploma or equivalent

- Meeting any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position

- Having a welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

- Being able to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed

- Having effective communication skills

- Being able to work both independently and with a team

- Managing workload and prioritizing tasks independently

- Being capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes
