As a Software Engineer at Stripe, you'll work on building solutions without clear precedent and solving problems with far-reaching consequences. You'll be part of a team that's replatforming the global economy around AI, creating new opportunities for growth.

**Responsibilities**

- Collaborate on multi-person coding projects to build and improve Stripe's financial infrastructure

- Learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems through independent research and mentorship

- Leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement

- Work on problems that have never been tackled before, adapting quickly and treating obstacles as opportunities

**Requirements**

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2026, or equivalent work experience

- No more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship experience)

- Experience with programming in languages such as Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go

- Familiarity with collaborative coding projects and code review practices

- Clear written communication skills and ability to explain work to stakeholders and team members

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or other technologies

- Experience leading small projects independently and contributing to larger projects

- Ability to operate with high agency in navigating complex technical obstacles independently
