## Description

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Process Data Engineer at Barclays, where you will develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

- Monitor data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.

- Identify and address data and records management risks and gaps.

- Develop and implement a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval, and disposal of records.

- Develop and implement a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.

- Provide Group-wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.

Assistant Vice President Expectations:

- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.

- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.

- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraise performance relative to objectives, and determine reward outcomes.

- Demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to a consistently excellent standard.

Requirements:

- Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines and curated datasets for reporting and insight generation.

- ETL tooling such as Alteryx, Glue, DBT, or equivalent platforms.

- Hands-on delivery of visualization tools and reporting solutions, including Tableau or equivalent tooling.

- Requirements documentation and clear communication, with the ability to work independently with stakeholders.

Desirable skills:

- Cloud data engineering experience, including AWS services and modern data ecosystem components (e.g., Snowflake).

- Strong SQL and data modeling capability, including experience of managing and operating SQL databases.

- Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark/Apache Spark, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline, with strong knowledge of DevOps best practices.

- Data orchestration and workflow tooling, together with modern lake and lakehouse patterns.

- Exposure to process modeling tools and methods, including IBM Blueworks Live or BPMN-based tooling.
