## Description

KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant to join their team. As a Special Education Assistant, you will provide support to students with disabilities, implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans, and deliver instruction. You will also participate as a member of the educational team, design and implement individual programs, and uphold school rules and policies.

Responsibilities:

- Provide support to students with disabilities

- Implement comprehensive positive behavioral support plans and effective behavior management strategies

- Deliver instruction and participate as a member of the educational team

- Design and implement individual programs

- Support student health needs, including mobility, diapering, and toileting if applicable

- Uphold and enforce school rules and policies

- Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the teacher

- Supervise students throughout the school day

- Assist with student assessments and IEP meetings

- Maintain confidentiality of students and families

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree highly preferred

- 1-year experience working with students with special needs in a school setting

- Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral intervention for students with complex and/or severe behavioral problems

- Certification in NCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) desired

- First aid and CPR desired

- Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
