## Description

We are seeking a Senior Battery Management System Engineer I to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing vehicles' electrical and electronics infrastructure, integrating and packaging battery-related software, and managing projects and teams.

**Job Purpose:** The Battery Management System Engineer role is responsible for delivering defined engineering assignments with guidance, while expanding the breadth of technical knowledge and starting to deepen expertise in specific technology areas. As a member of the Electrical & Electronics Architecture (EEA) Division, this position is expected to design vehicles' electrical and electronics infrastructure, integrate and package battery-related software, and correlate with counterparts in Japan and within the electrical division.

**Key Accountabilities:**

- Project and team management: breaking down project concept details into required development activities and deciding the overall ECU development plan with Technical Leadership's guidance and support

- Engineering specification design, including electrical circuit hardware and software

- Engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solution design

- Testing and verification of ECU specifications related to hardware and software

- Improvement and innovation: identifying shortcomings and suggesting improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures

- Documentation: managing multiple concurrent developments and recognizing problems in advance

- Reporting concern(s) items to Technical Leadership and identifying/proposing C/Ms for resolution

- Working with suppliers to coordinate requirements, schedule activities, and address issues in a timely manner

**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:**

- Minimum educational qualifications: Associate level college degree/diploma in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Physics, Materials Science) or a related STEM field of study; 4-year Bachelor's degree preferred

- Minimum work experience: at least 3 years relevant experience working in the automotive industry or an industry with similar applications/technologies

- Other job-specific skills: effective communication skills, ability to cultivate and manage relationships, solid quantitative/analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Word, CANalyzer, etc.)

**Workstyle:**

- This is an onsite job with one remote workday per week possible with prior departmental approval

- Travel requirements: approximately 10% annually, largely domestic and rarely international

- May have to work overtime on a need basis
