## Description

As a senior software engineer, you will work on Android platform development, designing, building, and optimizing Android environments that run Cisco's core communications software on collaboration devices.

You will:

- Design, implement, and maintain software in C++, Java, Python, and Rust, focusing on Android platform and systems-level development

- Integrate software from meeting platform partners into Cisco's software stack, particularly Android-based components

- Develop high-performance Android environments on embedded Linux hosts, including containerized or headless Android runtimes

- Modify and extend the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP) framework, system services, and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL)

- Ensure stable, secure, and low-latency networking between Linux host and Android environment

- Debug complex issues across the Linux-Android boundary

- Champion engineering best practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers

Minimum qualifications:

- Degree in computer science or equivalent

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with platform, embedded, or systems-level development

- Experience with C++, Java, Python, Linux, and Android development

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with Android containers or Android on embedded Linux hosts

- Strong understanding of Linux network architecture, cgroups, memory management, and cross-boundary IPC

- Experience with internet protocols, audio/video drivers, and embedded platforms
